Install in five steps

Open the download and drag EditWithChat into Applications.
Open EditWithChat and paste the license key from your purchase email.
Connect Claude — your own Claude Code login, or an Anthropic API key.
Start the setup. It downloads the editing tools in the background (about 10 minutes, once). You can look around meanwhile.
Upload a video, add a reference, click Edit.

System requirements

A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer)
macOS 13 Ventura or later
About 10 GB of free space for the one-time setup, plus room for your projects
A Claude plan with Claude Code, or an Anthropic API key
An internet connection for setup and for Claude; editing and rendering happen on your Mac

Where your files go

Projects are saved in Movies → EditWithChat (you can choose another folder in Settings → Storage). Each project keeps its footage, references, versions, exports and the chat with the editor, so you can reopen it any time.
